School Age Gymnastics Classes

Jump into the fun with our Recreational School-Age Gymnastics Program, where we put the well-being of the whole child first! Starting at 5 1/2 years old, our program is packed with excitement and designed to teach real gymnastics skills in a playful, engaging way. Our age-appropriate, well-crafted lesson plans ensure that every class is a perfect mix of learning and fun. Each class is structured to provide a balance of guided instruction and free exploration. Warm-up exercises are followed by skill stations where children rotate through different apparatus, practicing and refining their skills. Classes conclude with a cool-down period and a brief discussion to reflect on achievements and set goals for the next class.

LEVEL A GYMNASTICS

Ages 5.5 and up


Our Level A Gymnastics class is designed for children who are new to gymnastics or continuing from our pre-school program. This class provides a fun and engaging introduction to the fundamental skills of gymnastics in a safe and supportive environment.


Skills Covered:

  • Basic Floor Skills: Forward and backward rolls, Cartwheels, Handstands (against a wall), Bridge (with assistance).
  • Bar Skills: Spotted Pullover, Casts (in a support position), Candlestick Position.
  • Beam Skills: Walking forward, backward, and sideways on a low beam, Balancing on one foot, Basic jumps and dismounts.
  • Vault Skills: Running approaches, Proper punching technique on the springboard, Straight jumps off the vault.
  • Trampoline Skills: Controlled Jumps, Combination Jumps, Seat Drop Variations.
  • Strength, Flexibility, Gymnastics Body Positions.

LEVEL 1 GYMNASTICS

Must graduate Level A


Level 1 Gymnastics class is designed for children who have successfully graduated from Level A. This class builds upon the foundational skills learned in Level A, introducing more advanced techniques and refining existing abilities.


Skills Covered:

  • Floor Skills: Cartwheel Variations, Vertical handstand, bridge kickover, backwards rolls
  • Bar Skills: Pullover, back hip circles, Squat on, Front support to forward roll dismount, and glide swings.
  • Beam Skills: Walking on a high beam with different step variations, Tuck jumps and straight jumps, Handstand on low beam, Basic turns and pivots.
  • Vault Skills: Proper hurdle techniques, Handstand flat-back onto mats, Squat-on vaults, Straight jumps and tuck jumps off the vault.
  • Trampoline Skills: Back Handspring over barrel, peanut rolls, broncos, variations jumps, and full turns.
  • Continued building of Strength, Flexibility and Gymnastics Body Positions.

LEVEL 2 GYMNASTICS

Must graduate Level 1


Our Level 2 Gymnastics class at is designed for girls who have successfully graduated from our Level 1 program. This class focuses on advancing gymnastics techniques and refining the skills acquired in Level 1.


Skills Introduced:

  • Floor Skills: Power Hurdle Round-offs, Back extension rolls, Back Handspring over a barrel, Jump variations, heel snap turns.
  • Bar Skills: A Hard Pull over, Strait arm Back hip circles (unassisted), Cast Squat on, Sole circle dismounts, Hollow arch switches.
  • Beam Skills: Single leg V Sit mount, Lunge Split Handstand, Side handstand dismount, Round-off dismounts.
  • Vault Skills: Handstand to flat-back on 4 stack, Post Flight Skills, Stretch jump to 3 stack.
  • Trampoline Skills: Front Tuck to elevated mat, Back handspring (no spot), broncos to vertical.
  • Continued building of Strength, Flexibility and Gymnastics Body Positions.

LEVEL 3 GYMNASTICS

Must graduate Level 2


Our Level 3 Gymnastics class is designed for girls who have successfully graduated from our Level 2 program. This class focuses on mastering intermediate gymnastics skills and preparing students for more advanced techniques.


Skills Introduced:

  • Floor Skills: Football Roll, Round-off back handspring, Handstand Forward Roll, Back Walkovers, Aerial.
  • Bar Skills: Spotted Front Hip Circle,Drop Kip (spotted), Tap swings with regrip, Glide swing to hard pull over, Double back hip circle.
  • Beam Skills: Side handstand 1/4 turn dismount, Cartwheel on medium beam, Lunge handstand lunge, jumps and leaps in series.
  • Vault Skills: Front handspring vaults, handstand pop, Run hurdle handstand flat back on 4 stack.
  • Trampoline Skills: Two connected back handsprings, Flyspring, Standing Back Tuck (spotted), Back Peanut Roll, Power Hurdle Round-off back handspring.
  • Strength and Flexibility: 3 Pull ups, Good Leg Splits, Middle Splits, 10 Push-ups and more.
